In her photography, C.A. Richards draws on her background in theater in staging objects in relation to sun, shadow, and artificial light, finding drama in such disparate things as tarnished teapots and rusty chainsaw blades. She finds her subjects in the Midwest, where she makes her home after living in Paris and New York. Her work has a timeless quality not wedded to a particular place, bordering on abstraction. Her work has appeared in several national juried exhibitions.
